If the only cardio in your workout includes bench presses, pull-ups, and of course our all-time favourite, squats, then Song Phom Gym is for you. So while there are no treadmills, ellipticals, or bikes, this gym brings old-school bodybuilding vibes to you in Hoi An. They have dip bars, cable machines and a good assortment of weights. Drop in for a day pass or sign a month-long membership. Because you can be sure the rates here are one of the cheapest.  Like we said before, it’s back to basics. So this gym does not include a shower – no problem, though!  After that gym workout, jump on your bike and head down to one of Hoi An’s beaches to cool off and end your workout with some cardio.

Superfit Hoi An Fitness & Yoga is a modern day, newly equipped and air-conditioned fitness centre. It has a studio for yoga and dance and a caged turf ground for HIIT and Bootcamp group classes. They have multiple classes throughout the day, seven days a week. In addition, they also have many cardio machines including treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals, as well as a lifting platform and squat racks. You are provided with a secure locker and towel upon entry. There’s a sauna room to cool down or in this case heat up in after your workout. It has a fully equipped washroom with showers and towels readily available.

This gym is laid out starting with the cardio area followed by an organised and spacious machine-assisted workout area. The back of the room is caged with a turf ground and many oversized tires and kettlebells for Crossfit and group classes. The free weights area stretches from the front desk all the way down the front to the cage. It includes bench and squat racks and a lifting platform for only lifting.

This gym’s interior is one of the most modern and slick in Hoi An, complete with graphics on the wall. It’s kept clean and tidy with mirrors decorating the walls. Background music plays, and the air conditioning prevents you from overheating.

CrossFit Fitness and Yoga Center

Opening in August 2019, CrossFit Fitness and Yoga Centre offers a fully equipped gym along with yoga and CrossFit classes. Their first floor is filled with new and modern machines, squat racks, benches, free weights, treadmills and stationary bikes making it easy for anybody to reach their personal fitness goals.

If group workouts are more your style then head to the second floor where both yoga and CrossFit classes are held everyday. Opening as early as 5 a.m. and closing at 8 p.m., CrossFit Fitness and Yoga allows you to squeeze in a workout no matter your schedule. 

Offering daily, weekly, and monthly memberships, CrossFit Fitness and Yoga is perfect for the traveller just passing through or the long term local. The gym offers a simple and modern way to check in with only a fingerprint needed. It’s very easy to navigate, air-conditioned and well maintained, with mirrors on just about every wall. Opening in January 2019, Cong Manh Fitness was built from scratch as an open-air, back to basics gym. You’ll find free weights, modern cable machines, benches and a small selection of running machines. However, as a gym aimed at the Vietnamese market, you will find little English spoken and all signs written in Vietnamese. But prices are the lowest we’ve found around town. Also while you don’t get air conditioning, the space is open, clean and well thought out. They offer some Zumba classes for an additional fee, please inquire in the gym for more information.

Tuan Toan Fitness Centre

The same owner as Song Phom Gym and Tuan Toan Fitness Center is its second location. But this one is an all-inclusive fitness centre. A spacious, clean and fully equipped gym with a wide selection of machines and free weights with a great atmosphere to get your workout done. A family-run gym, and its owner, Mr Tuan, is actually a former Mr South East Asia Bodybuilding Champion. His staff provide great assistance whenever you need it.

Because of its underground location and limited sunlight, the place appears to have especially anabolic lighting. This combined with the dark colours and big pictures of bodybuilding legends decorating the walls, create a very modern, pleasant workout atmosphere. In addition, they offer aerobics classes.

This gym is a solid choice for anyone looking for a heavy dumbbell workout.  If you like to add versatility to your training with TRX body weights such as kettlebell exercises. Or wants a sufficient selection of good equipment in a modern and motivational environment. This gym is the largest in Hoi An and is mainly one big hall where everything is set up in a very organised way. So moving around this spacious gym during a workout is easy. It’s got a big cardio area, plenty of modern machines and benches such as some cable towers. There is also a free weights area with dumbbells up to 30 kg and some good quality rowing machines.

The main wall is furnished with big mirrors so you can observe yourself exercising, while motivational music plays in the background. It is open-air, so there is no air conditioning. In addition, the gym comes with restrooms and lockers.

The Almanity Retreat & Wellness Centre
