Reviews and Visitor Experience

Reviews of Le Pavillon Hoi An Luxury are generally positive, especially from couples and families looking for a relaxed atmosphere. Guests enjoy the very green surroundings and the peaceful ambience as well as the private balconies, breakfast buffet, and very helpful English speaking staff. The convenience of the pool bar is also appreciated by guests looking to rehydrate without having to dry off.

A handful of reviews included some negative feedback, which appears to be one-off situations such as the room having a shower when a bathtub was expected. Additionally, some guests mentioned they had trouble keeping the bathroom floor dry when taking showers, which is actually a common complaint throughout many hotels and guesthouses in Southeast Asia.

Because the Le Pavillon Hoi An Luxury Resort & Spa operates under the Le Pavillon Hoi An Group (which owns other properties), there has also been some confusion with taxi drivers as to where to pick up guests. This can be avoided by making transportation arrangements with the front desk staff.

Hidden Hint: Upon booking, make sure to communicate your preference in regards to the bathroom layout of your room. Some rooms do not include a bathtub so confirm you want one included at booking – especially if you have children.

Hidden’s Thoughts

The name of the hotel includes “luxury”, which is slightly ambiguous because this word carries different meanings to different people. To the backpacker or budget hotel traveller, this accommodation is certainly luxurious!

On the other hand, for those who are accustomed to ultra-fancy hotels with beautiful facilities, this hotel falls short of “luxury”.  Mainly because there is only one restaurant and one pool.  Furthermore the spa is relatively small, and the fitness centre is just one room with a small collection of gym equipment. However, for families and couples looking for green surroundings and a quiet place to land, this hotel rates very highly.

So on the whole, Le Pavillon Hoi An Luxury Resort & Spa is a solid choice for accommodation. Similarly Hidden’s opinion is that your stay here will not make or break your trip to Hoi An. It succeeds in providing a good spot for your party to recharge, enjoy a dip in the pool, and eat breakfast. But you have to venture out by shuttle or take a taxi to really enjoy the unique feel of this historic Vietnamese city.
